The medium I use for most of my artwork is Acrylic paints. Two years ago I was absolutely unaware of the existence of this medium. Today I'll share the reason how and why I started using acrylic paints. The reason why I stopped painting in the first place was that the art supplies were and still are so expensive. Artists can't work within limits and parameters. The art should not be restricted. But restrictions don't make art die in the artist, instead it becomes intense. When I restricted myself from art for about 17 yrs, the comeback of the artist in me was surprising even to me.

There was no stopping for me after that but the problem was money. Then I started to search for cheaper options to carry on with my work. Alhamd o lillah, I somehow stumbled upon acrylic paints and found them absolutely amazing medium to work with. The best thing about acrylic paints is that you can use them to give watercolour effect as perfectly as they give oil paint effect. Typically watercolor has a couple of characteristics which are difficult to achieve. First and foremost is TRANSPARENCY. I was able to create almost similar transparency with acrylic paints with a bit of technique. The second characteristic is MOVEMENT. Watercolor has the ability to show movement and flow with it's runny nature. Acrylic paints passed this test too. My "Whirling Dervesh" is a result of my connection with this new medium. If you are interested, I can give you more details on how to work with this medium.

It's 18" x 24" in size.
